BlogCatalog Challenges You To Blog Against Abuse
Saturday, August 11th, 2007On September 27th, join thousands of bloggers around the world in BlogCatalog’s Blogging for a Great Cause Challenge.
This Month’s Blogging Challenge:
Bloggers Against Abuse
September 27th, 2007
The Outcome we are after is to be part of the largest group of bloggers to ever blog about an important cause, all on the same day.
So how do you participate?
On Sept. 27th, blog about putting an end to some sort of Abuse (you decide what kind of abuse to blog about). In the meantime though,
- Spread the word among all the bloggers you know. Perhaps even give them a link to this Discussion.
- If you are a graphic designer, perhaps you can come up with some small badges announcing the event, that we can then place on our blogs. To share the badge, place it on this thread.
- Let other members know of any organizations who are involved in putting an end to abuse.
What do you get?
- You will receive a link to your Blog Post from the Blogcatalog blog when we list everyone who participated.
- You get to use your blog for an important cause.
- You get to create blogging history.

I would love to participate in blogging against abuse. I am still thinking about choosing between sexual abuse of women in war torn countries or elderly abuse. I would like to join this group, thank you

Guys, this is kind of stupid. You can’t have a cause against something as abstract as ‘abuse’. What kind of abuse? Physical abuse? Drug abuse? Abuse of the word ‘like’? Abuse of the internet?
You can fight cancer. You can fight AIDS. You can fight violence against women (”Australia says NO”). But you can’t fight “abuse” - it’s too general. That’s like having a war on being afraid or something.

I just put one of these badges on my blog. Since I am not on blogcatalog I will not sign up as recommended by GG. But I most likely will say something about abuse on my blog on September 27th

Abuse is abuse, no matter where it lives and you can definitely count my blog in, and I sincerely thank you for doing this.

Stop The Abuse!…
Now doesn’t that sound like a worthy cause. Abuse in any form should be stopped.
I was bloghopping as usual and arrived at Pelf’s blog, when I spotted a rather nice looking banner on her sidebar that shouted out “STOP THE ABUSE”….

Together we can stop child abuse
We may not be able to bring little Shearwel and Nurin back, but we can definitely do our part to ensure that whatever happened to them do not happen to other children in the future.
Together, we CAN stop child abuse.

I want to stop all forms of sexual violence, beginning with that which starts with the family. Sexual violence as a method of control or to wield undeserved power over someone else is heinous and has been ripping at the fabric of our society for too long. Stop casting shame and fear on the victims and start changing society’s attitudes and behaviors that perpetuate sexual assault.

What are we talking about?
We are talking mainly about “Healing Traditions” There is a spiritual source in India which is at this time exerting a powerful influence on the Western world.Recently, the modern medicine has led to a growing interest in ancient proven healing methods. Western medicine is organized around the theory of diseases, which believes that a person becomes sick because he or she contracts a disease. Each disease is seen as an independent entity that can be fully understood without regard to the person it afflicts or the environment in which it occurs. Thus, conventional treatments are treatments of diseases, not of people.

I am fully aware that many people do not respect animals, and even hurt them taking advantage of thir weakness etc. Personally, I am an animal lover - I love my dog and I like (even love) so called wild animals - I mean reptiles like monitors and lizards. My best friend is the president of the society in Poland (it is called Exotica-Ecology-Education) which protects endangered species and teaches people in Poland that even such animals can be friends…of human beings (at least some of them). And it is very difficult to teach Poles respect to animals - especially people who represent so called newly rich are too primitive to see such problems.
