May marks the first anniversary of Bloggers Unite and this time we’re fighting for Human Rights. Grab a badge below to show your support and help get the word out about Bloggers Unite.
Bloggers Unite for Humanity
I am a member of Bloggers Unite and would like to make a difference in my society on May 15, the first year of the not-for-profit organization. Be sure to tell everyone in the BlogCatalog.com community they want to change the world and continue to increase
knowledge of social awareness through the magic of the ‘Net.

Great Intiative.
I am always ready for such cause.
Let us create a better world before its too late..
I am a new member of Blog Catalog. For me? It’s very good idea, and I’ll try to do something for this.
Great site. A place for bloggers to express our cause. Will do something to contribute for any good cause.
What a great venue to unite a community for a cause which touches everyone in one way or another.
Who better then to be social about such matters then a social networking community?
great idea….
Human rights promotion is a must. All humans have the right to live decently and with dignity. I am happy BC inititaed this thing to all member bloggers. Hope everyone is concern.
I wholeheartedly support, encourage, and condone this issue in all respects. It’s wonderful to see people motivating for a cause, whatever form the motivation takes.
However, I have issue with the political subtext of some of the badges. The raised fist and red color schemes speak to a socialist iconography. Although support for the cause of human rights is welcome from all parts of the political spectrum, politicizing the imagery is something I feel should be avoided. Not everyone who supports human rights is a socialist, and as such I feel that there should be greater emphasis on more inclusive images.
Think of it this way: how would people react to badges draped in red, white, and blue stars and stripes?
Just be aware of what you’re saying, even when you’re not using words.
Wow… It’s a great idea!
An idea nicely to realize world peace. I support and follow to install badge campaign! Best regards.
Great idea! I’ll probably write about domestic violence.
Unitng for Human Rights is a great way to keep these problems in the minds of everyone as they go about their lives daily. I hope to see many other bloggers here. I will be writing about rights of the poor in America and how they are ignored by their neighbors because no one wants to see it next door.
When I first saw the badge in my friend’s blog, I directly pressed the link and wanted to grab the badge. Because from the beginning, I am a humanitarian worker. I work on humanitarian protection where the rights of people before, during, and post disaster are protected under the international instruments and laws. I work to empower the most vulnerable people through advocacy and campaigns. And putting the badge in my blog is the best way to spread the word. I am with all the bloggers who wanted to fight against violations of human rights.
Rights are innate at birth so let’s claim it!
My badge is up!!!
I have registered myself and Ibrahim Ramey and added a badge to both of our blogs.
http://aishahsjourney.blogspot.com
and

I have also circulated promotional information to various other groups via email.
Keep up the good work.
This is a great opportunity.
I, along with a group of conscious bloggers organized around Amnesty International Global Day for Darfur on April 13th and expanded the effort to be a monthly campaign with a mission to educate, motivate and activate for our Darfurian and Tibetan families.
Next month, I will be participating on the 15th and hopefully gaining participants for the 27th movement Am I not Human?.
Our campaign headquarters is Roots of Humanity for more information.
In light and love
Together we can change the world.
Mankind has the ability to correct all wrongs, right all injustices, and enjoy peace for every human. Unfortunately mankind is unmotivated to do so. As individuals, we can do all these things within our own universes. By associating with enough like minded people, maybe we can give mankind the motivation it needs. Humanity is the one irrefutable baseline that we all share, maybe we can unite as a species. This is a good start.
I will participate in this campaign. Please check out some of my previous posting regarding crime against women / others on my blog.
I support Human rights promotion, coz human’s rights are same in god side
I will participate this event. I will wrote it in two blogs, in english and Indonesian.
Thank you for this! I added a page to my page. I agree with above poster, together we CAN change the world.
Fighting for human rights is really a universal issue. Though its being carried through different ideologies, still its a humane mission to be conscious of ones right, human rights and peoples right . Onward to upholding human rights.
[...] visit the Blogger Unite page, grab a badge for your blog, and take five minutes to whip out a quick post drawing attention to this movement. And remember, [...]
I’m proud to participate in something like this for the first time in my life.
Excellent cause!
I just joined Blog Catalog yesterday, and already I am very pleased with this site. I joined Bloggers For Human Rights just this morning, and now seeing all these wonderful badges that people have created definitely is quite exciting! It is a great idea to do a post about this on my blog, and I will get right to this as soon as I get my new Badge. I believe that we all should stand up for Human Rights, in whatever it is we might be interested in; there are too many of those that just sit and do nothing over all the injustices that may happen in whatever Country we may live in. I am a person who will stand up, and also sometimes put myself in jeopardy for an individual, and have done so in the past. I write poetry, editorials, and journals for different causes, when something strikes me as being wrong. I may write about “child abuse”, considering I come from an extremely abusive background. Children also have rights!
Together you really can make a difference.
Thank you for this! I added a page to my page. I agree with above poster, together we CAN change the world.
I struggle for human rights for drug users. Did you know that is Thailand hard drug users have been given capital punishment? In the West, hard drug users are denied access to medical treatment and disease prevention programmes - thus we see escalating rates of HIV and HepC. These are human rights issue.

I am still thinking about what I want to write about! So many things, and so many thoughts! However, what a great cause…
I’m sure this campaign will be a huge success.
I have a question though.
In the Declaration of human rights states:
Article 26
Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.
Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace.
Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.
Many children with autism and autism spectrum disorder all over the world are not granted education which fits their needs.
I hope it’s allowed to blog about this, because it’s a matter close to my heart.
Now I’m going to add the badge to my blog.

I’m in. I’ll try and relate sports to human rights.. ha ha, should not be too hard with Beijing coming instantly to mind…
Hey all, greetings from Belgium.
As internet became the best way to make people discuss and realize life important items, I am more than happy to add the banner to my site to make it seen. Good luck to you all.
And remember, it’s more than a banner; it is an attitude !
Yours,
Ceci
I’m in too…I’ll put the badge on my blog…
Let’s unite in protecting human rights. Wear these badge!!! I’m already wearing one and they really look nice in my blog!!!
wow wonderful opportunity to get our hands together.

Greetings from Indonesia,
I was on my routine blog-hopping when I saw that badge. Just as Ceci Casariego said, it’s about the attitude. So I’m putting it on my blog. Not that I am a very pro-active person when it comes to “human rights abuse”. But this much help is what I can do for now.
I’ll write something on May 15, that’s for sure.
Ho aderito all’iniziativa ! spero lo faranno anche molti altri.
As beautifully illustrated as the badges are, it HURTS me to point out,as a person of color like most who’s suffering WE are attempting to
alleviate,BUT… WOULDN’T IT BE BETTER TO EXPRESS the MELANGE of HUES by an assortment REPRESENTATIVE? I WILL sign on
anyway, since my blog: An Open Opportunity was posted a few days ago, and most of my other articles address this event’s stakes.
I just had to let you know that if you want to recruit the many you have to address the needs of the few. Spock would be proud!
Unite !
I will really like to contribute to advocacy of human rights. I have added the badge to my site.
May 15th of this year is the 60th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba –which marked the beginning of the modern age Palestinian plight and suffering. This date is remembered annually on local, regional, and global levels.
I am certain that many in the blogosphere will dedicate some posts to commemorate this tragic event along with other human rights abuses around the globe.
I look forward to joining you all as we unite for human rights and hopefully, with everyone’s support, this will be such a spectacular event that it will catch the eye of the mainstream media (especially that of the Palestinian situation that is inadequately and incorrectly represented in most of the western media outlets).
Please keep Palestine in mind as well as the People of Gaza who are under siege. Please visit
http://stopthesiegeongaza.blogspot.com/ for news, resources, info and petition relating to end the siege on Gaza.
it’s a pleasure for me to express my sincere feeling to this fantastic effort for humanism, cheers

I’ll be participating to highlight the lack of human rights in Yemen, where pro-democracy journalist Abdulkarim Al-Khaiwani is imprisoned (again!) for “insulting the President” and is actually facing execution for being a dissident.
Soutenir les droits de l’homme est un devoir envers nous même, même si tous les états ont perdu le sens de ce mot ! alors que c’est à eux de les protéger en priorité !! tous les etats oui, sans exeption bafouent nos droits d’une manière ou d’une autre…
To support the humans right is a duty towards us even, even if all the states lost the direction of this word! whereas is with them to protect them in priority!! all the states yes, without exeption ridicule our rights in one way or another… good luck

I SUPPORT THIS
No dudé en unirme…apoyo siempre…
Right on!
Great idea and of course I will post one of the badges on my blog. Thanks for sharing the codes - kudos
I am posting a badge on my site for all to see. This is really a very worth while cause. it’s just a shame only one day gives it the attention it really deserves.Whats an even bigger shame is the amount of countries that abuse they’re own people in the name of god only knows what. The only thing that could make this better is if we could all march out of the blogsphere in to reality and stomp this social cancer out of existence.May you all benefit from the compassion you’re all showing.I would also like to take this chance to bless every one with love, kindness and may compassion always be in your heart.
Gregorio
I like the inciative, I’ve just posted in my blog.

love this idea!
I have added the badge. And I’m proud to be part of this revolution. As a human , regardless of colours and races we should have equal opportunity. And there is no different between rich and poor. We human who have created the gap between them. It is our fault. So during this special day let us reconcile and correct our mistakes. Hopefully during this last breath of our earth will be ended in peace and harmony.

I agree we must leave the world a better place for those that are left behind at the moment the world is full of violence and starvation and drought. People are greedy and not satisfied with anything they have.
